. Eligibility

1. General requirements
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with proper moral conduct, in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study, have a bachelor’s degree (Applicant who has not got the degree certificate when applying shall provide the pre-graduation certificate first, then provide the academic degree certificates no later than registration) and be under the age of 35 (Age limit is flexible for healthy applicants with certain work experience and high academic ability).

2. Requirements on nationality

Requirements of the regulations set in the Documents 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC should be met(Link).
2.1 Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship (including residents in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and become foreign citizens, must acquire foreign citizenship before April 30, 2020, and must have lived abroad more than 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024 (more than 9 months of residence abroad per year can be considered as one year, taking entry and exit stamps as evidence).
2.2 If the applicants has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was a Chinese citizen, parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent resident in foreign country should be obtained prior to the birth of the applicant. Applicants must have lived abroad more than 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024 (more than 9 months of residence abroad per year can be considered as one year, taking entry and exit stamps as evidence).
Note: If the applicant is concluded to have Chinese citizenship by the Chinese public security department after application, admission or enrolment, the applicant will be disqualified from application, admission or enrolment, or withdrawal from school will be required.

3. Language proficiency requirements
3.1 Applicants must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 80 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above), or other proof which can reflect the applicants’ English proficiency (except for English native speakers, or those who obtained their bachelors’ degree in English-taught programs);
3.2 There are no Chinese language proficiency requirements for the applicants of English-taught programs, but they (except for English native speakers) must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 80 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above), or other proof which can reflect the applicants’ English proficiency.
TOEFL DI Code of ZIBS is C603. TOEFL MyBest score is accepted.
3.3 Applicants are strongly encouraged to provide GRE、GMAT test score.

. Documents for Application


Applicants must log in to the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang Universityfill in clearly and upload completely the original or notarized scanned copies of the following materials as required.

1.A photocopy of passport front page. The passport should be valid before December 31, 2024.

2.Highest degree certificates. If applicants are university students, they shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate. The original or notarized copy of the academic qualification certificate must be submitted after admission (the degree certificate must be obtained no later than registration).

3. Academic transcripts during Bachelor’s degree study.

4. Language proficiency certificates. (Download)

5. A 1500-word personal statement, in Chinese or English, should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposals.

6. Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors. (Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter.)

7. Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (If applicable)

8. Applicants are encouraged to provide GRE/GMAT test score.

9. Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens shall provide:

9.1 Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese citizenship;
9.2 Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese household registration;
9.3 Documents certifying the acquirement of foreign citizenship

10. If the applicant has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was Chinese citizen shall provide:

10.1 Documents certifying the acquirement of foreign citizenship at the time of birth;
10.2 Documents certifying parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent residence in foreign country before the birth of the applicant.

5. ZIBS Hai Scholarship 

*The ZIBS Hai Scholarship is established to reward individuals with outstanding potentials. It is opened to all ZIBS international applicants. The scholarship will be paid to students after the student arrive in the international campus physically. Students are, however, required to pay the tuition in full upon registration. Applicants should fill in the Hai Application Form and submit it together with other application materials via the application system. The final interpretation of the ZIBS Hai Scholarship belongs to the ZIBS Admission Office.
